TEST RESULTS
Your doctor checks your test results as soon as they are received at the Clinic. We do not give test results over the telephone. For your best health outcome, your doctor must discuss results with you to ensure you fully understand the implications of your test results. A negative result does not necessarily mean that there is to be no further action. Your doctor may have further investigations or management of your health to discuss with you.
It is your responsibility to contact the Clinic immediately after you have had your test to make an appointment to come in to discuss the result with your doctor. This ensures your privacy and confidentiality and that correct management follows your result.
MANAGEMENT OF YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. We abide by the 10 National Privacy Principles available at http://www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html.
Consultations are by appointment. Our friendly Receptionists will do their best to provide you with the earliest possible appointment with your doctor of choice. Please tell them if your needs are urgent, or if you require a longer appointment due to a complex condition. An appointment must be made for every family member you are bringing to the clinic to see the doctor.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know 24 hours earlier if possible, but at least 3 hours prior to your booking, so that we may make another booking for you if required, and reschedule other patients.
Delays can occur if your doctor is attending to an emergency, or a very ill patient. It is our policy to give urgent priority and attention to our patients who are very ill, particularly children and babies, and we ask your understanding if you are required to wait in our waiting room for your appointment. We provide a comprehensive range of magazines and health information for you to read and a play area for your children.
TELEPHONE ACCESS TO DOCTORS
Doctors in this practice are unable to take calls from patients. It is best to book an appointment to discuss your health issue with the doctor in person. In an emergency, your call will always be put through to the on-duty Nurse as soon as possible.
REMINDER SYSTEM
We operate a reminder system in order to offer our patient’s optimum care. We may issue you with a reminder notice, or our Practice Nurse may contact you to make an appointment to see her or your doctor. We are committed to preventative health care.
We can accommodate most emergencies and trauma, and will treat you with priority. Please inform our receptionists on arrival.
SURGICAL PROCEDURES
All instruments used in procedures are sterile and disposable. A small fee may be incurred to cover those costs.
